The Chestnut Trail's Secret
Three shiny chestnuts in a perfect row — and a tiny note that said: FOLLOW ME.

Three shiny chestnuts in a perfect row — and a tiny note that said: FOLLOW ME. Who leaves a trail of chestnuts on your front step? Nobody on Maple Street knew. Atharva picked one up, warm from the morning sun, and Ashi read the note again, very slowly.
Ashi: "Do we… follow it?" (whispering)
Atharva grinned.
Atharva: "What kind of adventure starts without a little mystery?"
So they followed it. Chestnut, chestnut, chestnut — a brown trail winding past Missus Hart's roses, under the park fence, and all the way to the big oak tree. Ashi's legs were getting tired, but he held Atharva's hand tight.
Ashi: "What if it leads to a dragon?" (whispering)
Atharva: "Then we will share our cookies with the dragon,"
And on they walked, step by step, following the chestnuts home.
But at the big oak tree, the trail turned — and ended at Missus Hart's back fence. There, a water pipe had burst! Water gushed out like a fountain, pooling around her rose bushes, and the roses were drooping sadly in the mud.
Ashi: "Oh no!" (crying)
Ashi: "Her roses are drowning!"
Atharva rolled up his sleeves.
Atharva: "We have to stop it,"
Atharva: "Before the whole garden turns into a lake."
Ashi pressed both hands over the burst pipe. Water sprayed everywhere — in his hair, in his ears, all over his blue shirt with the white collar!
Ashi: "I can't hold it!" (giggling and shivering at the same time)
Atharva tried too, but the water was too strong.
Atharva: "This job is too big for two small boys," (wiping his face)
Atharva: "We need… a bigger helper."
So off they ran, all the way to Mister Thompson's porch — Atharva carrying Ashi piggyback for the last bit because his little legs were so tired. Knock, knock, knock! Mister Thompson opened the door with his walking cane, and the boys told him everything, breathlessly, tumbling over each other's words.
Mister Thompson: "A burst pipe!"
Mister Thompson: "At Missus Hart's? Well then — fetch my toolbox, boys. We ride to the rescue!"
Mister Thompson marched down Maple Street with his big wrench, the boys and Biscuit trotting behind him. At the burst pipe, he twisted one big valve — creak, clunk — and the fountain stopped, just like that. The roses lifted their heads in the sunshine.
Ashi: "Hip, hip, hooray!" (cheering)
Biscuit barked three happy barks. Missus Hart came running out, her gray bun bouncing, and clapped her hands.
Atharva: "But who left the chestnuts?"
Missus Hart smiled a secret smile.
Missus Hart: "I did, dear. My phone was dead and my leg was sore — so I laid a trail, hoping two brave boys would follow it and fetch me a helper."
The boys gasped.
Atharva and Ashi: "So we did not fix it — but we found the right helper!"
Missus Hart: "Exactly,"
Missus Hart: "Asking for help is the bravest, smartest thing of all."
And that is tonight's story, little one. Remember: being brave does not mean doing everything all by yourself. When a job is too big, the bravest, smartest thing you can do is ask for help — that is how heroes save the day. Tune in tomorrow night for another adventure with Atharva and Ashi. Good night, sleep tight. And keep learning, and subscribe to A two Quest dot com.
